Frank Centofante, a celebrated and longtime custom knifemaker, as well as a past President of the Knifemaker's Guild, is a respected figure in the custom knife industry. Spyderco has been fortunate to collaborate with him on several knife designs, and the latest offering is the Centofante 3 gentleman's folder.

The Centofante 3 features a thin-profiled, lightweight FRN handle. Two channels are carved into the handle to provide a better grip, and a Palladium silver Spyderco bug is inlaid into the surface. For added security and convenience, the back-lock is positioned midway on the spine, and a David Boye Dent is cut from the locking lever.

The VG-10 blade of the Centofante 3 has both a hollow-grind and a swedge-grind, with non-sharpened spine serrations (jimping) to help hold the thumb steady during cutting. To ensure discreet carry, the knife is equipped with a black steel pocket clip that positions for tip-up or tip-down, right-hand carry.
